Q.

Moving to a different location within same company

I'm thinking about moving to a different location (in a different state) within my current company. It falls under the same organization and I will be doing the same kind of work. I have been on H-1B for the last 4 years. My GC process started last year with PD as Nov 2008 (EB2, India). I-140 has been approved and I'm waiting to file I-485.

- If I move to this new location, does that require any change in my current H-1B? BTW, the current one expires on Feb 2010, so my employer was planning to renew it this October.

- Does it mean my GC process need to be restarted if I move in the current situation (without I-485 been filed)? Is there any way to avoid this? This is the only reason that is holding me back from moving. Please suggest if there is a way to get around this problem. Thnx
