Lawyer Selected CP instead of AOS option

Hi,

I am in US for last 5 yrs of H1B. My case has been filed in EB2 (India) and PD is 31st march 2009. Since it might become current in next few months, I was planning to file I485 and AP and EAD once it is current.

However today I recieved an invoice to pay immigration visa fees for both me and my wife. It is then when I realized that lawyer had selected CP option instead of AOS while staying in US.

1) How does this affect me?

2) Can I still switch to AOS instead of CP option easily? If yes then does it delay my processing in any way as there are chances for my PD to be current soon?

3)Should I stick with CP in case it is beneficial?

4)Usually from past experience how much time is taken between filing Immigration visa fees and getting a call from counsulate?
