Q.

I-485 delays and next steps

Im with my employer for 11 yrs and they applied for GC(EB3) 3 yrs ago. We reclaimed my previous priority dt. of Nov 1998 (previous GC filing) during I-140 stage. We filed I-485 in Nebraska SC on 31 MAR'11. Since the normal processing time for this SC is 4 mths, I called USCIS to open a service request. I got the following response 3 days ago.

"485 EB visa allocations are exhausted. Your case will be processed according to the FY 2012 allocations. Based upon 2012 allocations, your case will be processed when a visa becomes available according to your priority & category dates"

Question:
I thought FY 2012 allocation start at 10/1/11. Is this response valid? I have InfoPass appt tomorrow. What are my next steps? I have an offer with a new company with a good role (not same as in my GC
