Hi, My question is in regards to how long my H1-B visa is valid in my case.
Details: I graduated with a Bachelors degree from a US college in Dec 2006. I was on OPT from Jan 2007 - Jan 2008 but my company filed for H1B that year. I started work in June 2007 and by Oct 2007 my H1 was approved. I had left the country for a month just before starting my job in June 2007. I got my visa stamped in April 2008 from a consulate in Canada and got an extension after 3 years.
Question: I'd like to know if the last date to file for Green card first stage is Sep 30, 2012 (5 years from Oct 2007) or April 2013 (because that's when I first entered the country on H1B)?
