Q.

Changing jobs when I485 is pending

Hello Sir,

I filed mine and my wife's I485 on May 5th 2011, based on cross charge-ability on her country of birth. Both of us completed finger printing on june 30th and also received EADs and AP card the same day.

I am a consultant to a client company and they are in the process of converting all consultant to employees. So, my client company basically wants me to leave my current job with GC sponsoring company(vendor) and join the client company as an employee.

What are my options? Since 180 days have still not completed, I wont be eligible for AC 21 portibility? Is it safe to switch or should i start look for another job with my GC sponsoring company. Also, once I receive green card, how long do I have to work for the GC sponsoring company?

Please advise.

Thanks
