Applying for EB-2 through NPO
I have a masters in chemistry and currently on OPT (starting Oct 2010). I am currently working at a pharmaceutical but didn't want to apply for H1B because major layoffs are very common in the industry. I just got an offer from a small research institution (NPO, 100% federal funded) for a chemist position. I am wondering if this new position is good to apply for H1B and also green card. I think it would be not too difficult to justify this position requires a masters. But, because this is a non-profit, the wage is 40k, and "privilege wage" of the state for chemist (industries) I looked up on internet is 62k. Is the employer required to offer wage equivalent to 62k or can they compare my wage with other workers in the same NPO? Can you think of other difficulties I may face?
