I have been on my H1B visa for the past 6 years and my Green Card application was filed under EB2 category with priority date of Jan 2009. Currently,my I-140 has been approved for over a year and my application for H1B extension has been submitted and should be approved by the end of this month.At this point can I move jobs? What are the steps I need to take before I accept the new job?Also, what will the new company need to do in order to transfer my H1B and also my Green Card filing and maintain my current priority date? Are there any potential risks involved with moving jobs at this stage of green card filing?
