Q.

Promotion

I started my GC process in June 2008 and have been in the same position with same title since then. I recently got my PERM certified and have concurrently filed i-140 and 485 forms. Yesterday, I was offered a vertical promotion, with less than 5% change in responsibilities, salary increase and new title (Director from Manager). This is partly because my annual merit increase can no longer be accommodated under my current pay band. My questions:
1. Can I take a promotion while waiting for i-140 and 485 approval? If no, when can i take a promotion
2. Can my salary be increased without a title change?
3. When can i change jobs (within the same function and same company) in the course of the GC process?
4. What are the risks to the GC process and H1B status if I take the promotion?
