PERM Audit

Hi,

My employer filed my PERM application under EB2 in Jan 2008.I got an audit in March 2008 and
then my employer responded to it in April 2008.I have been checking the status of PERM
regularly with my employer and until now my employer is saying that the status is
in process.
Is it possible to take this long time (more than 3 years) for an Audit case? In one of immigration sites, I learned that the DOL is processing Audit cases with priority dates in January 2009.
As my priority date is January 2008, what could be a reason for my case to be still in Process?
Is there any way my employer or I can get accurate status on my PERM application?
Is it possible for my current employer to keep current application active and file for new PERM?Thank you.
