| Q. |
Can experience requirement be subtituted with Degree ?
My background:
4 Years Bachelor’s Degree,
3 years relevant work experience (Outside the current Employer)
US Master’s degree,
Job Min requirements Bachelor’s degree + 5 yrs. experience
Since I don’t have 5 years of experience outside this employer, I am insisting that we should have alternate requirements as Masters + 2 years of experience so that I qualify for this job.
Here is my lawyer says: “DOL considers a master’s degree equal to a bachelor’s plus five years’ experience; therefore, even though you don’t have 5 years of experience you would qualify for the job since you have masters degree. No need to have both”
Do I qualify for the job that requires Beachlor’s + 5 years as minimum requirement? Can experience requirement be substituted with Degree during PERM process?
