Q.

H1B Extension and passport Expiry

My H1B visa(and I-94) is expiring on 29-Jun-2011 and my Indian passport is expiring on 25-Dec-2011.
The number of days between these 2 dates is 178.(Which is less than 6 months).

My question is if an application for renewal of H1B is filled with USCIS, will USCIS reject my H1B extension due to less than 6 months being available on my passport.

Do I need to apply for extension of my passport before I can apply for H1B extension.

Please advice.?
