Changing Employers when GC is in Proces

My H1b is valid until June 2010. My current employer started GC in 2008,my labor was filed on 8/22/2008. My PERM Labor is still in process.

Now company B is offering me a job and I really want to join them, they are worried if they would be able to file GC for me by Sept 2009 ( June 2009 H1b expiry + recapture of 90 days vacation time) and they feel tied up on time for same. What are my options if I have to join them?

Can I keep my current priority date of 8/22/2008?
Do I need to wait till my LC is approved to use my current priority date?
How much time does a employer need to get GC papers ready and file for same?
