Continuation of employment on Expired EAD while waiting renewal
My Status

I-485 adjustment of status in process.
(perm & 1140 are approved; priority date Feb 2007)
EAD renewal

Applied for renewal - receipt received; notice date: 9/07
(initial EAD was granted for 1 year; 1st renewal: 2Yrs; 2nd renewal waiting for approval)
My EAD has expired.
Employer has asked to continue in my job while waiting for approval.
Can you advise me on the consequences?
- Penalty for working on expired EAD?
- Any deportation threat?
- Does 245(k) apply for my situation?
