Q.

Status of I-485 application

My I-485 application in EB2 category was filed in Aug,2007 with priority date of May,2006.
My PD is now current.I received my second fingerprint appt. notice in the mail last week for Sept 17,2010. I had FP done in Oct,2007. My case was transferred to NBC in Jan 2009 and I had an interview in Mar 2009.
The second FP notice says they need biometrics to process my case. Is this a sign my case is moving forward? Will an Infopass appointment help in getting more info on whats going on with the case?
Also,I have read that USCIS sends out an email regarding card processing. How to check what email they have on file? I no longer work for the company that filed my GC, since I got laid off and switched employers since. I tried contacting the lawyers of my prev. employer but got no response.
