Wrong PD on I-140 and need to apply I-485 for the spouse

Hi,
my EB2 LC has Apr,26,2006 as applied date. I-140 approved in 2006. I-485 applied in Aug07, its pending. last week i found my PD is wrong on my approved I-140. it has Oct,16,2006 instead of Apr,26,2006 which is the Labor applied date. my employer's attorny said he is going to write to USCIS to correct the PD on my I-140. But i need to apply I-485 for my spouse as i got married after i applied my I-485. as per next months visa bulletin Apr,26,2006 will be current which is supposed to be my PD. attorny saying we can go ahead and file my spouse I-485 next month and point out USCIS error in my PD? is this the right thing to do? or do i need to wait until USCIS correct my PD? or do i need to wait until my erronious PD becomes current to apply my spouse 485? Thanks in advance for your help.
