Q.

EAD expiring but previous H1-B notice of approval still valid

Hi,
Until last year I was using H1-B. I traveled India this year and used Advance Parole to reenter into USA. My H1-B "Notice of Approval" is still valid and will expire next year though the Visa on my passport was expired a few years back.

Last month, I applied for EAD renewal and current EAD will expire this month. Now, my question is if I don't get EAD renewed before the current EAD expires, am I legally allowed to work with the current employer keeping in mind that my "H1-B Notice of Approval" is still valid but I used Advance Parole to reenter and the Visa is expired.

In case I am not allowed to work and still continue working can it affect my greencard. Also, can 245(k) provide relief in my situation assuming I have never been involved in any illegal employment before.
