Q.

EAD renewal under AOS

Per the USCIS website "they ordered production of the new EAD". However I have not received the card on the mail to date and my current card expires tomorrow.
In this connection:

1. I heard that I could work up to 180 days without work authorization. Is this true? If so, where in the Immigration Law it is ruled?

2. If I work without having received the renewal card on the mail could this affect the approval of my Green Card and later the US citizenship?
