Q.

Eb3 to EB2 porting

My current company filed my GC EB3India as I have bachelors degree my experience was less than 5 yrs and I have PD of Nov 2003, I140 is approved and I485 was filed during July 2007 and pending. My and my wife both have EAD but are not using them as I am on H1B and she is not working. Our visas are valid till Nov 2012.
Now I have offer from other company in similar role which says that they will transfer my H1 visa take care of current GC process and can start my Labor certification in EB2 after 6 months I join them and will try to port EB3 PD with it. The position reqmnts are for EB2 and now I have 8 yrs of exp.

So my question is should I do it can it run into problems?
What happens to our EADs & AP. Can we renew them ourself if needed and if my wife can start working on her EAD later?
