Consular processing for NIW
I completed my PhD in the U.S. and came to Canada for a postdoctoral fellowship last year. I filled I-140-NIW petition this January & was approved last week. I am from ROW and my visa number is current. I selected consular processing.
1. Do I need a U.S. job offer before filling I-864?
2. Can my sibling (currently a U.S. citizen) be a sponsor to fill I-864?
3. Do I need a U.S. job offer or actual job prior to the consular processing interview?
4. If I get J1 visa, will that be a problem for my green card application?
5. If I get a U.S. job offer before consular processing, can that U.S. employer file H1-B visa on behalf of myself?
6. Imagine, I get a job in the U.S prior to the interview. Will my medical exam from a U.S. doctor be accepted by the foreign consular?
