Q.

Leaving country without Advance Parole in hand

Hi,
My wife is in the US and has a valid H4 stamped till Feb 2010 as well as pending I485. I used my EAD to switch jobs in October and filed for Advance Parole for both of us. I've received my AP but my wife has not. It was mailed 2 weeks ago according to USCIS. She has to travel to India for a family emergency.
What is the risk in traveling without AP in hand and can she use H4 for reentering in case the AP never arrives.
