PERM / Extension of H1-B after 6 years

My 6 yrs of H1-B end on May 30 2011. My company has started the process for filing for PERM.

How long does it take for all the paperwork to be finished before they can file for PERM ?

Will they be able to file it before May 30 2010, so I can have my PERM pending for 365 days when my H1-B comes up for extension ?

What options do I have when I file for extension for H1-B and my PERM hasn't been pending for 365 days ?
