Changing from AoS to Consular processing

Hi,
I have a pending 485, EB2I - July '07 PD with Company A. I was recently let go. The latest I140 LUD was in '07. Our Company's immigration specialist verbally said that they do not revoke I140 due to the cost involved. Our company has a branch in India, that I am considering to relocate.

Would you advise that I change my I485 AoS to Consular processing. I heard CP is risky since there is no lawyer representation.

Is there any way to check the backlog of US Consulate Immigration visas by location.

Do they use my PD or am I placed at the bottom of the stack.

If I get my GC thru CP, is there any restriction on how soon I can start working with the US office.

Can I interview with our US office after receiving GC to get an offer letter.

thanks
