Q.

Out of Status and its effect on future I485 filing

I moved to US on a L1A visa with Co A in 06 & got approved until Jun 09. In 07 filed EB1C application (I485 concurrently). In ‘08 got an EAD valid until Jun 2010. Got 2 RFEs on I140 then it was denied. Filed MTR Oct 08. Co A ran into financial difficult, stopped paying me & asked me to look for another job. I spoke with lawyer & was informed that I could work for another employer using EAD until I got a decision on I140 MTR. In 08 October I got a job on EAD with Co B. In Aug 09 Co B applied for H1B for me & got approved. I went back to India in Sep 09 & got H1B Visa & returned Oct 09 with new I94.I checked the I485 status last month & found it was denied in 2008 after my I140 was denied.I was not aware of the denial of my I485. I would like to know how this will affect my future GC plans.
