Q.

Travel allowed? I-140 approved, I-485, I-765, I-131 pending.

I have an H1-B set to expire on 12/31/09.
I have an recently approved I-140 (EB1a) and an I-485 pending, and submitted I-765 (EAD) and I-131 (Advanced Parole) over the weekend.

The question is whether I can go to the US Virgin Islands and/or British VIs from 12/20/09-12/27/09 with and without the approved I-131 Advanced Parole. I did mark the trip on the I-131 form as the first planned trip.

The I-131 instructions (page 1, right column) say that you don't need Advanced Parole to get back in, as long as you are maintaining your H1 status, which I do - for four more days.

I am worried about the close dates, but also about the fact that there is pretty much no way to leave from the islands than through the US (Puerto Rico or Miami). And about abandoning my I-485.
