Q.

Switching Employers after 1-140 approval

I got my I-140 approved in Jun 2009. I have not filed for I-485 yet. I'm EB2 India and PD is Oct 2008. My 6 year of H1 B is ending in May 2010.
Can i switch jobs now and start the GC processing with the new employer? When doing the H1 transfer to the new employer how much time will i get the H1 for? When should the new employer start the GC process?
