Q.

COS is pending, EOS timely filed later: consequences???

What will be the consequences if one person has filed timely COS to F1 three months after arrival on B2 status and then after 2 months of filing COS, while COS is still pending and i-94 still valid, filed timely EOS?

1. If COS is approved, does he need to withdraw EOS application?
2. If COS is denied but EOS is still pending, is he still in "authorized stay"?
3. If COS is denied and EOS is still pending, if he leaves before receiving the decision on EOS, did he accrue "unlawful stay" that makes his B2 visa invalid?
4. If both COS and EOS are denied, when will the count towards 180 days for the purpose of 245(k) begin -- date of latest denial or the date of I-94 expiration?
