Q.

Non-US citizen (Polish tourist visa hold)

I'm from Poland on a tourist visa. I've been here from July'08 (me and my fiancee went to Canada in Sep'08 and immigration officer gave me another 6 months, so I'm legal right now). My visa ends in May 27, but before that we want to get married as well as send all the (green card) papers for me.
Will I have to go back to Poland and wait there for my green card or I can stay here?
Will I be illegal here waiting for the green card?
After we get married and after May 27, can we leave the country or immigration won't let me in back, even if we show a certified copy of our marriage?
How long does it usually takes to get a green card in SF Bay?
Can I get a working permit before getting a green card?
Thank you so much, I'll be appreciative for your answer.
